Migrane According to Ayurveda

Migrane According to Ayurveda :-
According to Ayurveda, the humour called “Vata” controls the nervous system and brain activity and it is the imbalance of this Vata that causes the diseases. Vata imbalance arises due to improper metabolism, poor elimination, mental and physical stress, viewing of TV for long periods, reading with insufficient light, sleeplessness, etc, The usual symptoms are mild, moderate or severe pain in the head, part of the head, forehead or the eyes. A feeling of uneasiness, loss of appetite, nausea and difficulty in sleeping also accompany headaches. The treatments followed will mainly focus on rebalancing the Vata dosha
There are Two Types of Migraines
The palace of our body's empire is our brain and it is the king of our mind. The mind feels emotions like happiness, enthusiasm, depression, insecurity, impulsive behavior, sorrow, anxiety, anger, fear and phobias.
Severe pain, hammering, aching, throbbing, pricking in the head, along with nausea and vomiting are often the signs of migraine. A person suffering from migraine does not want to speak, hear, read, talk, or even eat. He/she probably wants to tie a band tightly around the forehead and lie in a dark room.
Although a variety of painkillers are available off-the- shelf to treat the migraine, they may not always work because the remedy lies in the cause of the migraine. Besides, painkillers only suppress the pain but the problem persists in the body. They also have side effects like depression, anorexia, high blood pressure, giddiness, ulcer, and hyperacidity.
Excess Vata Migraines
Reasons  Increases in cold, dry, and rainy season; Intensity increases due to exertion, stress, over fasting, late nights, insufficient sleep, excess in sexual activity, worry, sadness, hunger, fear and trauma.
Symptoms  Throbbing pain, unable to move head without feeling the unbearable pain.
Remedy  Hot oil massage; eat vata reducing and nutritive diet like rice, wheat, sesame, warm milk, butter, ghee, onion, sweet fruits, coriander, asafoetida, cumin, cardamom, garlic, saffron, goat meat, jaggery, and green gram (also known as mung beans) and rice.
Avoid  Cold and dry weather as well as emotions that increases vata.
Home Remedies  Take 1 tsp castor oil at bedtime with warm water; Massage your head with warm oil or have shirodhara*, shirobasti*, and enema treatments from panchakarma (or detoxifying sessions).
Migraines Due to Excess Pitta
Health History  A young clerk was suffering from severe migraines because of excess pitta. He would sit inside his shop all day, and to avoid feeling tired and sleepy, he would smoke and drink 5 to 6 cups of tea. He was fond of spicy, fried foods and, to top it all, would hang around in bars at night, drink and eat heavy food.
Very soon, he started feeling lethargic, with headache, tiredness, frustration, severe acidity, and burning in the stomach. He took many painkillers for migraine, but the problem only persisted and increased because the chemicals in the drugs were increasing the pitta (heat).
He went to a neurologist, an ENT specialist, psychiatrists, and all types of specialists. Even after a range of investigations like X-Ray, CT Scan, and MRI, there was no diagnosis. Finally, his friend, who had experienced success by my advice for his arthritis, referred him to me.
Symptoms  Migraine increases in the afternoon. The head feels very hot and burns, and headaches increases with acidity.
Reasons  Excessive exposure to sun and heat, working near fire and heat, hot weather, too much spicy and fermented foods (which increase pitta), too many antibiotics and drugs, and hypertension.
he following herbal compound is beneficial in managing migraine.
shatavari 5 parts
brahmi 4 parts
jatamamsi 3 parts
musta 3 parts
Prepare this mixture, and take 1/2 teaspoon twice a day, morning and evening, after breakfast and dinner, with a little lukewarm water. This formula is designed to pacify the aggravated pitta and help relieve migraine headaches.
Purgatives (such as aloe vera gel, rhubarb, and fennel), liver cleansers (such as bhamiamalaki and brahmi), sandalwood oil on the third eye, temples, heart, and under the nose, medicated oils or ghee, using gudachi, bala, and ashwagandha; fomentation, and saturating snuff are also advised.
Long-term healing includes chyavan prash, brahmi, and ashwagandha.
Avoid Direct Sun.
Because migraine headaches are predominantly a pitta disorder, they are affected by the hot sun. When the sun rises, its hot, sharp, penetrating rays increase pitta in the cardiovascular system and cause the dilation of the blood vessels in the brain, which results in the painful headaches. So avoid direct exposure to the sun. If you have to go out, use an umbrella or wear a hat or other protection from the sun.
Head Massage
Shiro dhara (hot oil head massage) is also beneficial.
Recommended Yoga Postures.
Moon Salutation is especially good for migraines. Yoga postures such as the Hidden Lotus, Boat pose, Bow pose, Spinal Twist, Palm Tree pose, and Standing on the Toes are also good to combat migraines.

!!Ashteelaavad Ghano Granthiroodhwar Maayata Unnataha"!!

Which means below navel their is a litte gland which sometimes changes its position and sometimes stays at the same position .This gland when affected from vitiated vata leads to vataashteela or an enlarged prostate.

Prostrate Englargment In Ayurveda

of three types -: Vata, Pita, Kapha

Prostate enlargement is common in old age with weakening of sexual function. It can happen in younger men through excessive sexual practices or from under supperssion of ejaculation.

Most commonly it is a Vata (air) condition and comes in the Vata stage of life (old age). Symptoms include lower back pain, low energy, constipation.

Pitta (fire) type involves infection, swelling and fever. The urine will be dark yellow or red.

Kapha (water) type is due to water retention and excess phlegm. Treatment is similar to that for edema.

Sign and symptoms..

Usually all is aware about the sign and symptoms of Prorsate Englargment but few common symptoms are :-

  • The most common symptom is the frequency with which the patient has to urinate two or three times at night as well as constantly during the day.
  • It may be difficult to stop urinating once the process is started.
  • The stream is narrower and less powerful than before.
  • There may be a tendency to dribble urine.
  • After urinating, one still has a feeling of incomplete evacuation.
  • Straining may cause some blood to appear in the urine.
  • As the condition progresses, it can become very painful, cystitis may develop and, in time the flow of urine may be reduced to a few drops at a time or stop altogether -a condition known as retention.

Preparation number 2 ( from all pure raw herbs we make one preparation ) contains

Punarnava Hog Weed (Boerhaavia diffusa) It is prescribed in case of all urinary problems that are caused due to prostate ailments

Ghokshar Small Caltrop (Tribulus terrestris) Tribulus terrestris has traditionally been used to reduce inflammation and improve urination – the latter includes an ability to ease painful, burning sensations when urinating.

Ushira (Vetiveria zizanioides): Ushira is popularly known as Khas, Khas or Khus grass in India. It is a densely tufted grass, found throughout the plains and lower hills of India, particularly on the riverbanks. Different parts of this grass is used for many diseases such as mouth ulcer, fever, boil, epilepsy, burn, headache, enlarge prostate etc.

Khadir Areca catechu has traditionally been used as an aphrodisiac and to reduce an enlarged prostate.

Salam Mishri: Salep Orchid (Orchis mascula) The salep orchid is known as salam mishri in Ayurveda. It is prescribed in case of prostate problems brought on by vata vitiation.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mix all those raw herbs in form of leaves or root and take 1 tea spoon about 5-7gms and put in 200ml of water in low heat, and let 30-40% observed in heat and then filter and drink it 1-2 times a day like tea. For making taste can put 1 tea spoon sugar or depends upon taste.

Life Style:

The patient should not expose himself to sun or heat. Excessive perspiration takes away lot of water from the body and the urine thus becomes concentrated. Passage of this concentrated urine through the urinary tract causes irritation and gives rise to burning sensation.

Ayurvedic tips for Self-Care:

* Avoid drinking more liquids after 6 pm to reduce the need to urinate frequently during the night.

* Drink 8 glasses of water a day to help prevent bacteria from accumulating in the bladder.

* Drink cranberry juice 4 times a day to increase the acidity of the urine, especially if you feel a urinary tract infection coming on.

* Alcohol, tobacco, coffee increase vata and vitiate it. Hence avoid alcohol, tobacco and coffee, especially after dinner.

* Avoid foods which cause constipation as constipation causes vitiation of vata.

Yoga:

A very useful yogic exercise in Ashwini mudra (named after a horse’s bottom!). You can do this sitting or standing in any comfortable position as you inhale, you draw your anus upwards in a strong contraction and as you exhale you relax the anus. Do this 10-15 times up to three times a day. All squatting postures will also assist the function of contraction-relaxation in the lower pelvic area, which helps to increase circulation and to reduce the inevitable venous congestion that occurs after the prostate has been inflamed for a long time.

this is all about my approch and my view of Englarment of Prostate treatment In ayureveda.

if you have any question, please can mail to me..
